COLUMBIA, SC — Local business owner and community advocate Jesse Bullard announced his campaign for Columbia City Council At-Large today. The election for this seat, held by Councilman Howard Duvall who is not seeking another term, will be held on November 7, 2023.

“I have always believed in ‘service above self,’ so I am excited for the opportunity to serve Columbia on the City Council,” said Jesse Bullard.

After working nearly every position in the company, Jesse Bullard eventually became Vice President and a partner in Southern Way Catering. Jesse has also started several other successful Columbia-based businesses.

Bullard said, “As Columbia is seeing growth in jobs and investment, I will bring my experience and expertise to the City Council to continue that positive growth. In my line of work, customer service is key and problem solving is critical. I will bring that approach and experience to ensure people in all corners of Columbia have a voice at City Hall, to attack root causes of crime through outreach in our communities, and to make Columbia a great place to raise a family and grow a business.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Jesse is a past member of the Columbia Hospitality Tax Commission, past Chairman of the Columbia Heart Ball, a Board Member of the Friends of Epworth Children’s Home, a Member of the Columbia Rotary Club, and is involved in several other local organizations. Jesse and his wife, Katie, have two children.
